MY FIRST FILM

My copy of Film Directing Shot by Shot arrived in the post today. I had a quick flick through the book and there are a lot of pages on storyboards, camera placement, angles, focus and framing - especially for conversations. I will start reading it over the weekend. Hopefully it will reaffirm what I know about directing. Though I am constantly learning, so if it can teach me some new tricks, so much the better. I should receive the other book, Film Directing Cinematic Motion, later this week.
Also, Ben Woodiwiss has finished the fifth draft and I have sent it out to a couple of my trusted friends. One of them, Simon Waxman, has agreed to meet with us tomorrow evening to go over his thoughts on the script. I will be interested to know what Simon thinks, as 1) Simon is very knowledgeable about film. 2) Simon will be the first person to have read the script outside Ben and myself. 3) Simon worked with me on that feature in Cornwall. I look forward to hear what he has to say about the script. I will have my notebook at the ready.
