MY FIRST FILM

Ben Delivers

I was going to write about working on my birthday and I was going to post my review of The Plague, but something more pressing came along. I got an email from Ben Woodiwiss with one complete first draft of the script for “Vampire”. You can say that it was a bit of a surprise, as I wasn’t expecting to receive it so soon. Though as soon as I could, I printed a copy off and read it as fast as I could.

It’s good. Real good. It wasn’t what I was expecting, but I was won over by the end. He took my ideas and ran with them. I was so happy that I had to call up Ben straight away. He was glad that I liked it. He told me how he got a blister on his finger from all the typing he did over the weekend. I told him that there were a few things that need changing in the script, but only because they would be too expensive to shoot. I told him how great I thought it was. Ben couldn’t talk for too long as he was at work. He would do a much as he could - there are a few changes he wants to make to the dialogue of one of the main characters. He did warn me that he was going to be busy over the next few weeks, so I shouldn’t expect anything soon. Which is far enough.

So once I was finished on the phone, I started sending out copies of the script to the cast and crew via email, and arrange a few meetings. I can now start getting the props and costumes together + I can get the rest of the cast in place. I’m going to be busy.

I will now get back to writing about what it was like working on my birthday and the review of The Plague. They should be up in the next day or two. I now have a few things to do.
