Work on the new Prologue is going well. I have gotten in touch with the crew and they are all up for coming back and working on the film. Which is great. I can now catch up with everybody and there is also a continuity with the old part of the film. Seth is going to be in the Prologue with 2 new characters - Mary and Lisa. I have cast the part of Lisa and now I am looking for someone to fill the role of Mary. (I will announce the names of the actors once they are both cast)

Yesterday, I put an advert up on both Talent Circle and Mandy looking for actresses. The advert went live in the evening, while I was at work, so I had a bit of a surprise when I opened my email this morning. There was 50 emails waiting for me. I sat down at the computer and started to look through all the CVs and headshots I had received. As I am looking through each one, more emails would come in. Usually about 3 or 4 at a time would come in. It’s now four in the afternoon and I have just finished going through all the emails I have received.

I had so many replies that I had to book a second day for auditions next week. The plan was to see a handful of people in one afternoon. But because I had a high standard of responses to advert, I feel it is worth doing a second afternoon of auditions.

I have learnt my lesson since the last time I held auditions for the film. I have given everybody a time for their audition. If they can’t make that time, then I have been able to give them other times. Before I thought this was such a hassle, but I am quite happy to move people around. Doing it the other way, were the actors could turn up anytime they wanted, turned out to be a bigger headache (see Auditions). And it was unfair on the actors who took the time to come along and audition for me. This way is fairer to everybody, including myself. I will let you know how it goes.
